Q. What is Sobrietol®?

A: Sobrietol® is a dietary supplement developed through advanced biotechnology. It contains special ingredients (enzymes, cofactors, and substrates) which have been proven to remove alcohol from the body. Independent tests measuring blood alcohol levels by breathalyzers operated with Oregon State Police, resulted in an average of 56% lower blood alcohol.

Q. How do I take Sobrietol®?

A. Sobrietol® comes as a dry powder in a foil packet. Just mix the Sobrietol® powder with four to six ounces of water and drink it.

Q. Do you mean Sobrietol® will remove alcohol from my system if I drink and then decide I want to be sober?

A. Yes.

Q. How fast does Sobrietol® work?

A. It varies from person to person and from situation to situation. It’s important to know that Sobrietol® is NOT able to instantly take you from being drunk to being sober. Sobrietol® aids in removing alcohol from your system but it does not instantly remove ALL alcohol from your blood.

Q. So how fast does it work?

A. We typically see alcohol metabolized about twice as fast although in some studies, Sobrietol® has even tripled the normal rate of sobering up.

Q: What is the “normal” rate at which people sober up?

A: 90% of alcohol consumed is removed (metabolized) in the liver. That’s why alcoholics frequently get cirrhosis of the liver, not cirrhosis of the kidney or pancreas, for example. The speed at which the liver removes alcohol (burn rate) varies from .01% - .02% per hour. (Remember the DUI rate is .08% so, at that level, it would take 4-8 hours to fully remove all the alcohol in the body). The burn rate varies depending on how recently you have eaten, (and what exactly you ate), percentage of body fat, and gender. Also, if you drink heavily at any one time, the enzymes necessary to process alcohol start to run out which slows down the burn rate.

Q: So Sobrietol® helps speed up the liver?

A: No. Sobrietol® breaks down alcohol all by itself.

Q: How does this work?

A: Sobrietol® has the exact same enzymes and catalysis as the liver for metabolizing alcohol. But instead of being limited to .01%-.02% per hour (liver's burn rate), Sobrietol® immediately breaks down alcohol it meets, in the stomach and intestine, when you drink it.

Q: Why is this important?

A: Often times, when people are celebrating or having a drink, someone orders another round or two after you have decided that you have already had enough, and many times those “extra” drinks get consumed out of politeness, even though you really don’t want or need them. The result is that these “extra” drinks are now sitting in your stomach awaiting digestion which will further raise your blood alcohol level, and mean even more time for your liver to break down and remove the alcohol. That is why you can become MORE intoxicated long after you have stopped drinking. But Sobrietol® instantly attacks that “alcohol overload” that is sloshing around in your stomach and eliminates it, greatly reducing the work load on your liver.

A: It is eventually digested, just like food.

Q: I’ve heard of airline pilots getting into trouble after a night of drinking because of their strict, zero tolerance regulation on alcohol.

A: Airline pilots, Commercial drivers, Ship captains and many other professions have very strict rules about alcohol consumption and residual alcohol in the body because they have many peoples' lives in their hands. Just because they quit drinking at 10pm the night before doesn’t mean all the alcohol is gone from their body at 6:00 am the next day when they may start work. This can potentially be a very dangerous situation. If a pilot hasn't totally sobered up, his impairment is putting his passengers at risk as well as putting his career on the line if he's caught. Q: Is Sobrietol® totally safe to take?

A: Yes. Most of the ingredients in it are already found in your body, but all ingredients meet the requirements of the FDA’s Generally Reported as Safe (GRAS) list. It's just like taking a vitamin supplement.

Q: Can I take it the next morning when I realize that I’ve overdone it?

A: Not really. It may help a bit if you’ve really overindulged, but to be effective it needs to be TAKEN BEFORE you go to bed for the night.
